Anyone who knows my Mike, knows that he LOVES to ride motorcycles. He has rode since he was a kid. With all of Mike's broken bones over the past 13 years (we were tallying the other night and I think we were up to about 12) one would think that I would like him to retire - but I don't. Riding is Mike's one true passion... it's what he does. He will drive over 4 hours to Mesquite to ride for the day and then drive back home all in one day. When he hasn't been able to ride at a track for awhile he rides his bike up and down the street popping wheelies that scare me to death. All of my garden tools and the kid's bikes have been banished from the 3rd car garage so he can have a "motorcycles only area" (i think that was the real reason for selling the boat - it was infringing on the motorcycle space). He reads his motorcycle magazines from cover to cover as soon as he gets them (much to Shelby's disgust of those being the only thing he reads) and totes them to the reading room for more analysis later. We had to watch the speed channel last night for the Ricky Carmichael marathon - a whole night of rerun races of the G.O.A.T. Our family vacations are centered around races - we have driven to Mammoth Lakes California twice and to my favorite race track - Washoulgal Washington. Not to mention several Saturdays in Price, Ogden, Tooele, and Salt Lake - afterwards many times ending our outing in the E.R. occasionally followed by a trip to the O.R. The first movies downloaded to our iPod were motorcycle movies. Motorcycles get Mike excited...take Mike to a motorcycle shop and he is like a kid in a candy store - he would like to have one of everything! Riding is like a drug to Mike - he doesn't do it for awhile and he can live without it, but as soon as he rides he's hooked again. So the riding will continue, the moto mags will continue to come to our mail box, family vacations to motocross destinations will continue and I, Mike's #1 fan, will continue to be his "Nurse Ratchet" !
