Exploring

For Family Night we went for a Rhino ride up American Fork Canyon to Tibble Fork. We wanted to explore some trails that are a little closer to home. We found some fun trails and beautiful scenery! I love how green everything still is - it is spectacular. Shelby and Hunter were quite interested in an area that had a sign that showed where a grave yard was for a small mining town. Apparently back in 1832 Diphtheria claimed 11 children and so they made a little grave yard there. Shelby and Hunter were surprised that there used to be a town way up the canyon - we had a little history lesson about pioneers and old mine towns. We saw several things along the trail that looked like old mining stuff - I am going to have to look into the history of the area more - it looked pretty interesting. We took a sack lunch and ate on the trail. Shelby, Hunter and Taylor got to wear their new helmets...Tay Tay looked like a little bobble head. We all had fun - even with me being on the lookout for rogue bears ;) We will definitely be going on more adventures up the Canyon (armed bear spray and a forest service map on our GPS).

I LOVE SEEING THE KIDS AND HEARING ABOUT YOUR ACTIVITIES. THE CANYON IS BEAUTIFUL. I LOVE HISTORY. I'D LIKE TO KNOW WHAT YOU FIND OUT ABOUT THE AREA. MAYBE WE CAN GO THERE SOMETIME TOO.
